last night i went dumpstering with my roommates and we got a lot of great food.
we started at odwalla. and they locked it! wtf. so we left with nothing. when we got to the end of the road we decided to go back and stick gum in the locks.
we were pretty bummed about this.
we then went to tropicana. WHICH WAS ALSO LOCKED.
we tried and get in and were feel a little discouraged. so i decided to bend the plastic cover inward so we could get in. and it worked. we got a ton of stuff there including orange juice, naked juice, "purely" stuff. (the stuff that comes in the odd shaped clear plastic containers). and some other juices.
then we went to trader joes and got a ton of stuff. bags of bananas, bread, crumpets, pita bread, clementines, and a bunch of other stuff. i found a guacamole kit.

i got in bed at around 3 though. and had to wake up at 7 to do the homework i didnt finish before we went out.

tonight was supposed to be really fun punk show in new haven. it ended up being 1/2 lame 1/2 fun night of swimming./
i text some people looking for the address of fucking discovery because i couldnt find any fliers with the street address.
was waiting for reply and thought i would spend time doing necessary shit for student loans. so i filled out a form and couldnt figure out how to do the rest. so i called the hotline. got an automated response that said they would call back in 45 minutes. so 10 minutes before call back i get the address. i dont want to have wasted the time and thought i did everything except the part i didnt know what to do. then my mom heard me on the phone and people told me i need a cosigner. so she gave her info and we had to fill out another 3 pages of forms or whatever. and by the time we were done and my forms were in i was too late for the show.

i waited around a little bit and my friends called me and told me they were going for ice cream and a swim. so i tagged along to friendlys hoping for sorbet when all they had was sherbet and we went swimming,.

i had a meeting today. im pretty stoked on some things. and equally as bummed on other things.
i got back to my place in boston and its fucking gross. there are a ton of dishes in the sink. the counters are gross, we have a mouse, and it smells, the bathroom is dirty.

i saw an apt today i really really liked. i just wish the rest of my friends could see it. if we all cant find a place im seriously considering adding money to student loans and getting a studio apt. living in this place will make me crazy.
tomorrow im seeing more places with ryan. might see if he wants to swing by the place i saw today. its getting down to the wire though. which sucks. i know i would be trading if i moved into a studio, and it wouldnt really be able to have people over still, but at least i would be accountable only to myself. well see what happens to this place.

i cannot wait to move out of my place. more text messages. i can just hear her passive aggressive voice. i do not believe i did anything to wrong her, but you cant be everyones friend. so with my new place i will take a positive attitude with me. my moving out should make her happy. she text me about how it was rude to leave without telling her a month in advance. and i know that. i fully accept all responsibility for finding a new person in the allotted time period. and its actually illegal to do that also. i need to give 30 days notice.
i really hope we get this place

lotus fucker were fucking awesome at whitney house. hanging out with dan brian and brian was fun. they slept over and we watched most of bourne identity. decided against going to boston the next day because im a baby and didnt want to drive in the rain. so i hung out in wmass instead and had tofu agogo then saw funny people.

i still need to take my asl placement exam since my return from dc. ill do it next week.
i need to see when im working first though because they are cutting hours like crazy and i need gas money.
will see how it all goes.

new york was really fun.
bus ride there sucked. took about 6 1/2 hours from dc to nyc.
got there and went to the place i stayed and then went to red bamboo.
food was good and then slept.
woke up early and went the to the union square farmers market. it was fucking amazing. so many awesome fruits and veggies for so cheap.
i also got these hard bakes amish pretzel type things that were very very good.
after that i walked on this new walkway in the meatpacking district. its called the highline.
its this walkway you cant bike or roller blade on. in the middle of the district.
there is a bench area where you can sit and watch the road from behind a glass wall. its very awkward. then hung around chinatown and ate veggie dim sum. it was very good. i mean excellent.

while walking on saturday i saw tracy morgan. he was driving a lamborghini and didnt have a shirt on. i got some pictures and will post later.

tonight i went to an amazing talk at gallaudet.
a woman gave a presentation about black deaf culture
it was really amazing. she talked about the history of black deaf education.
she also went into what it means to be black and deaf. whether you identify as black or deaf first. what it means to be part of the black deaf community. she said that the black community isnt very connected with the deaf black community.
i also learned that when schools were segregated there was a BSL (black sign language) they had different words for some things and also a different syntax and signing style. some of their style made its way into ASL when the schools were integrated.
great talk.

im learning a ton in this class. but today i got really really angry.
the whole class is basically group projects. and there are 11 people in our class. groups of 2 is going to leave 1 person out. and of course i am that person. (which would be fine if i were able to just work alone)
but the teacher said i need to join a group. she asked me why i dont want to work in a group and i said that i prefer to work alone sometimes. and i found out for certain why when i met with this one girl.
she kept talking to me about asl poetry and marginalizing certain types of poetry as if some were better than others. i can tell you for certain abc stories that are good are extremely hard to make up.
i explained this to her and she kept talking to me like she was my fucking teacher and knew what was right. im fucking 23. you may be older than me but you are not right. dont talk down to me. i cant stand when people do that.
it sucks, no one in class understands this girls signing, and when she doesnt understand you, she just wants you to voice. arg.

i didnt do a whole lot yesterday but it was a lot of fun actually.
brian haley brian and tim slept over 2 nights ago and it was fun. we all hung out,
in the morning we went to sticky fingers.
after i went to verizon because my phone is broken again.

the sound works only when its on speaker phone. this is terrible news, because i generally loath talking to people while on speaker phone, so i dont generally do it in public.
they told me they were sending me another "new" phone. i asked them if it was new or just another certified "like new" phone that would break again. he said like new. im hoping it breaks again so i can complain and just get a different phone.
ive come to the realization that touch screens are nice, but i get so scared the screen will break its like a constant thing on my mind.

dc is still great. now i only have 3 roommates as 1 is leaving and will not return until i am gone.
speaking of leaving, my parents are flying me home because they are going to a family reunion i have no interest in attending myself. so they are picking up the things that will not fit in my bag or on the plane and are flying me home. this cuts commute from 6 hours to about a 45 minute plane ride, plus the obvious 3 hours wait time in the airport which still isnt that bad. ill just pack up my computer and use that in the airport.

(the teacher told me straight up, which was a little awkward)
im biking a ton and my legs are getting stronger.
i still need to figure out what to bring for lunch that wont cost me a ton of money. im eating cereal for breakfast and usually soup or black bean burger at schoo, but i feel like i can make a cheaper lunch to bring if i had access to a microwave and refrigerator.

tomorrow i think i will be going to harry potter if i can get a ticket and then sneaking into bruno.
and i might ride by the real world house tomorrow.

today is
cooking with friend
working for dad. - this will be more annoying now because my dads foreman is in the hospital so it will definitely take longer than i wanted.
finally made a list of all the records i want to sell. i should have just done it on the computer and not a notepad.
my parents have a scanner. maybe ill try that.
i got another letter from the 2nd health care provider i have. i canceled it because im insured through my folks, but they didnt file paperwork correctly. so now i need to cancel this and get my 3 grand back from northeastern.

today i hiked the metacomet trail and got to the top where there is a beautiful view. i pulled out my camera and turned it on to realize that it is broken. the screen only shows purple lines and shadows.
then i got back and my dad asked me if i could work for a couple hours and i said yes and got free dinner out of the deal.

i miss boston so much. im saving a TON of money. which is really awesome. but all i do is work and watch movies by myself.
i dont even know when im going back next. i work weekends and the week. i get to hang out with my dog which rules. but not worth it.
i miss going to the gym too. which is being renovated for the next 3 weeks. so i guess i cant miss that right now.

i need to go back and fix my bike before i leave. i think im going to fix it into a single speed. i just need to flip the hub and put a brake on so i dont die.
i need to decide if i want to bring my car to dc.
i need to make a list of what to bring.

the registry of interpreters for the deaf or RID is having its bi-annual conference in philly this year. i want to go a lot. but i dont know anyone in philly really. one person who i havent talked to in a very long time. so i need to decide if i should try couch crashing through acquaintances or just put the whole thing off. its really expensive (350) but i thing the experience would be amazing.

tonight was so much fun. i went to this vegetarian indian place i had no idea existed. the food was awesome and only 6.50.
i was going to go to sweet claudes but i forgot where it was and a couple people i text didnt respond by the time i was leaving. i wish i had a phone that would let me search the internet and didnt cost a shit ton of money a month. oh well.

i cant believe no one had ever told me about this place though. its not in downtown middletown. its sorta in the middle of nowhere.
but worth it. they can make everything vegan with the exception of anything with paneer or malai kofta.

classes are finished.
i am working doubles in ct every weekend at the movie theater (which sucks). i am doing this because i am 10 bucks an hour basically and free movies.
i am still trying to get a job for the week in boston. i talked to a dunkin donuts manager and those prospects seem promising.
the commute isnt so bad but the bed at my parents is really uncomfortable. and i miss being in boston when im in ct.
a little freaking out about the month in dc. im stoked but craigs list fucking sucks and is really expensive. i might just break down and stay in the dorms. ill be on campus, i think ill have a kitchen, and ill be surrounded by deaf people. maybe it will be worth the 400 extra dollars.

i found 22 bucks at work the other day. that is a huge bonus for me.

but when i work at that place now its so weird.
i dont care what people think because i have goals and i am well on my way to acheiving them, but i see the looks i get from people who were in my grade or from the same town as me. i know they are thinking "he still works here". its just weird. sometimes i want to shout "i go to a great school and i love my life and my major and wouldnt change it for anything" but i know to open that conversation up i would have to listen to what they are doing. and on the whole i could care less what they are doing.
it is refreshing to see people who have matured since high school be really nice to you.
and i get compliments from people who say i look like ive lost weight. and that makes me feel good.
